Capital Improvements
- Relocated the Linda Nolen Learning Center (LNLC) to recently purchased property formerly known as the Bradford Health Services Building.
- Created new 6th grade center for Thompson Middle School in the current LNLC building to reduce overcrowding at TMS.
- Opened two new schools for 2008-2009 – Calera High School and Helena Middle School
- The new Helena Middle School helped to reduce overcrowding at Riverchase Middle School.
- The new Calera High School allowed the district to separate Calera Middle/High into two schools
- Using $20 million in state bond money for additions and renovations at numerous schools in the county
