Bacteria Wanted Poster Research Project


Background Information:
Students will research one bacterial pathogen and produce a "Wanted Poster."

Student Requirements:
Students select a pathogen from the list below or select one off the list. They will then produce a wanted poster with the given parameters.

Project Description/Abstract:
Make a wanted poster for one of the Monerans (Domain Bacteria) listed. Use a half sheet sized poster. Include:

  1. "photo" (electron micrograph or microscopic picture/diagram) You can draw this neatly or print from computer/book. 5 pts
  2. description of what it looks like 10pts
  3. organism's m.o. (use police jargon) (How the organism attacks and spreads) 10 pts
  4. most common victims to prey upon 5pts
  5. hide out of the culprit (where it is most likely to be found) 10 pts
  6. most common injury done to victim 10pts
  7. Is it considered armed and dangerous? rate the degree of damage caused 10 pts
  8. number of victims 5pts
  9. most effective weapons against the germ 10 pts
  10. any other identifying characteristics (such as tattoos) 10 pts

Students have one period in the library/media center to research their disease. Any additional time needed for research or production of the poster is to be done on their own.
