Mrs. Hoffman and Mr. Norris are dedicated to the success of every child at Inverness Elementary School. They lead the faculty and staff with positive energy, promote active student engagement in the classroom, and seek to form a supportive learning environment at the school by placing emphasis on collective responsibility. Christine Hoffman- Principal
Ms. Christine Hoffman grew up primarily in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater.
After moving to Alabama she attended graduate school at the
University of Alabama-Birmingham where she received both her
Master’s Degree and her administration certification. She taught
four years in Wisconsin and 11 years in Alabama before becoming
an Assistant Principal at Valley Elementary School. She
spent four years as Principal of Montevallo Elementary School
before transferring to IES in 2006. She can think of no job more
rewarding than being an elementary school principal, where
everyday for her is “both a challenge and a delight,” and she
can think of no better place than Inverness Elementary School in
which to do it.
Jeff Norris- Assistant Principal
Mr. Jeff Norris is proud to be a part of the administrative team at Inverness Elementary School. Mr. Norris graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Instructional Leadership. In addition, he holds an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership (University of Montevallo), a Master’s degree in Gifted Education (University of South Alabama), and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (University of Alabama). In 2012, he earned his National Board certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist and was named Shelby County’s Elementary Teacher of the Year, as well as being a state finalist for the Jacksonville State University Teacher Hall of Fame.
Mr. Norris has 2 children, Maggie (7) and Miller (5), and his wife, Sarah, works as a preschool music teacher at Westwood Baptist Church. Mr. Norris believes in the “3 Tions:” Quality Instruction, Effective Communication, and Positive Emotional Connection.
