A Northport, Alabama native, Celita Carmichael Deem attended grades K-10 in the Northport district.  Completing her secondary education at Vestavia High School near Birmingham, she attended Oxford University in the U.K. and earned her Bachelor’s degree from UAB.

During Deem’s 13 years tenure in the “corporate world” she found herself drawn to what she discovered was her passion….her love of children and their education.  So while still running a school supply company, she earned her Masters of Education Administration degree from Samford University.  Having taught 7 years as a teacher, Deem became the Assistant Principal at Inverness Elementary School, where she feels truly blessed to be able to say that she loves what she does, and cares most for those with whom she works….the kids.  It is all about the kids.

Mrs. Deem is the proud parent of 4 and grandparent of two.
