My name is Jane Cornelius or Ms. “C”. I am the Theatre Director at Thompson High School, in Alabaster, AL. I’m in my third year of teaching at THS. In addition to teaching theatre courses offered at THS (Theatre I, II, III, & IV), I also direct the 3 main stage shows each school year. I am also the 09-10 Alabama Conference of Theatre Vice Chair of the Secondary Division. In 2007, I graduated from Troy University in Troy, AL. While I studied at Troy, I was able to be a part of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Fraternity as Vice President, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Fraternity, as well as numerous theatre productions and national competitions. I currently hold a Bachelors of Science in Communication Arts w/ Dramatic Track. I also have worked in professional theatre at Shennandoah Music Theatre in Wenchester, VA as Properties Assistant. Before college, I was a part of the Shades Valley Theatre Program, now known as Shades Valley Theatre Academy. In doing so, I was able to gain several scholarship offers to numerous universities around the country, but I found Troy to be my home away from home. I hope to build THS Theatre Department into a prominent theatre department, not just in acting, but technical theatre as well. I hope that students can learn from their theatrical experiences and use their skills, not just in theatre, but also in real life situations. |
