integrating authentic meaningful 21st Century skills into the classroom!
An Initiative of Shelby County Schools
SHELBY COUNTY SCHOOLS recognizes that today’s students must develop new skills for the 21st Century, skills that will enable them to take full advantage of today’s learning opportunities and help them become better prepared for their future. In response to this need, Randy Fuller, the superintendent, formed a 21st Century committee in the fall of 2009.This committee was asked to establish 21st Century learning goals for the 2010-2011 school year and to plan strategies to ensure that 21st Century learning becomes a standard component of education in Shelby County Schools. These strategies include increasing staff development, interconnecting core curriculum with 21st Century skills, and improving access to technology tools.
