Christine Hoffman, Principal
Mrs. Christine Hoffman grew up, primarily, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater where she received a
Bachelor of Science in Education degree. After moving to Alabama she attended graduate school at the University of Alabama-Birmingham where she
received a Master of Arts in Education degree, her administration certification, and her Educational Specialist degree. She taught four years in
Wisconsin and 11 years in Alabama before becoming an assistant principal at Valley Elementary School. She spent four years as principal of
Montevallo Elementary School before transferring to IES in 2006. She can think of no job more rewarding than being an elementary school principal,
where every day for her is “both a challenge and a delight,” and she can think of no better place than Inverness Elementary School in which to do it.
Mrs. Hoffman is the proud mother of two grown daughters and "Grams" to four grandchildren.
Amanda Hamm, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Hamm began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher and has spent the last few years serving as an Instructional Coach for Shelby County Schools. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from The University of Alabama, a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of West Alabama, and most recently, an Education Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of West Alabama. In addition, she received her Instructional Leadership certification from The University of Montevallo.
Mrs. Hamm is originally from Connecticut but now lives in Tuscaloosa with her husband, Jackson, and their Siberian Husky. Mrs. Hamm is a lifelong learner and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and traveling (especially to the beach). She is excited to join the wonderful faculty and staff at Inverness Elementary School!
Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. Hamm are dedicated to the success of every child at Inverness Elementary School. They lead the faculty and staff with positive energy, promote active student engagement in the classroom, and seek to form a supportive learning environment at the school by placing emphasis on collective responsibility.
