Welcome to Vincent Middle High School

Vincent Middle High School is the only combination middle/high school in the Shelby County School System. Our school is located in the rural community of Vincent, about 30 miles southeast of Birmingham. Our student population is approximately 500 students in grades 6 - 12. We offer several Advanced Placement courses in English, Biology, History, and Government. We also offer advanced math, physics, chemistry, and Spanish. Vincent Middle High School also offers numerous extracurricular activities in athletics, clubs, and service organizations. VMHS

A Word from Gary Minnick - Principal

At Vincent High School we believe education is about preparation to lead a productive life, and that what one learns in one subject cannot be completely isolated from the content of another. Therefore, we integrate skills and concepts across the curriculum, and work hard to create real life applications for what our students are learning. This helps them see the usefulness of the "tools" we are trying to provide.

"Give Me Five" is a service learning project adopted by the Board of Education. Its purpose is to connect what students are learning to real life and to promote our belief that we all have a duty to use our gifts to try to make the world a better place. We embrace this idea wholeheartedly and have expanded it to be a progressive project over the course of a student's high school career. Also, our expanded format integrates technology, proficiency with which is now essential to success in almost any endeavor.

We also believe that success in life has far more to do with hard work than the brain power we are born with. In all that we do, we owe it to ourselves, our community and country to be productive, helpful, positive, and respectful.

Thank you for your full support as we endeavor to build these values into our students. It is our hope that this will enrich our community both now and in the future.
