6th grade students in Ms. Boyd's FACS (Family and Consumer Sciences) elective took some time to reflect and examine their self-concept as a step in the goal-setting process. Ms. Boyd facilitated a meaningful culminating team-building activity during which students found others with the same popsicle stick and shared responses to reflection questions. Standards-based instruction and high student engagement during this fun and valuable lesson!

Companies and post secondary schools were present to represent everything from healthcare to cosmetology and firefighting to engineering.
