We are in our classrooms and off to an AMAZING school year. This morning during arrival the fire alarm did go off. We evacuated the building using our safety procedures and waited for the fire department to clear the building. We are now back on schedule and practicing our routines and procedures to set the tone for a great year. Students, teachers, staff, and parents did a great job making sure all students were safe. Thank you for your patience this morning as we ensured all students and staff were safe and ready to start the year!
We are so excited about the new school year! Please take a moment to read the attached reminders as we get ready to Take Off into a new school year. Some key reminders include: drop off starts at 7:15, tardy bell rings at 7:50, bring a snack, review the car rider map, and most importantly look forward to an AMAZING YEAR! #Onward&Upward

We look forward to welcoming you to Meet the Teacher tomorrow. 3rd Grade is scheduled from 12:00-1:00. 4th grade is scheduled from 1:15-2:15 and 5th grade from 2:30-3:30. The front door, back gym door, and bus line door will be open for families, so please feel free to park in any available parking spot. You will be able to meet your child's teachers, join PTO and purchase Calera merchandise, complete bus registration: https://busregistration.shelbyed.org/ , get your car rider tag, pay school fees, and tour the school. If you do not know who your child's teacher is, check Rooms tomorrow morning for a class announcement or swing by the front office! If you need assistance registering your child for school, please come to the front office first! We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Need help registering your child for school? In person help will be available at Calera Intermediate School on July 20th from 5pm - 7pm in the school library. Please note, that car rider tags WILL NOT be available for pick up as originally communicated. They have not yet arrived. We will distribute car rider tags at Meet the Teacher. If you have completed online registration, there is no need to attend this session. Please email Mrs. Hebson if you have any questions about your student's registration status at jhebson@shelbyed.org. Please note, you must be fully registered by July 27th to receive your child's teacher placement. All students registered after July 27th, will receive their teacher's name on August 9th.
