Congrats to the following students who placed in the Future Business Leaders of America Competition on Tuesday in academic test categories for Business Etiquette, Digital Citizenship, Computer Science, and Career Exploration. Students also placed in presentation categories for Exploring Business Issues, Marketing Mix, and Website Design. We are proud of you all!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Due to some students using stainless steel cups/bottles as weapons, we will no longer allow students to bring them to school. Many students have been injured by others swinging the cup and hitting them in the head on accident, and some were swinging it recklessly and hitting people on purpose.
Alternatively, students may bring plastic water bottles with a top. All bottles with liquids must have a screw top. Plastic water bottles may also be purchased from the PBIS store.
Last week 6th grade ELA students did March Madness stations to hit priority standards before their ACAP test! They also completed a round robin Gimkit to review all terms and examples from important standards!
Today, we discussed student ACAP and IREADY scores. Please ask them about their scores! If they email Ms. Jackson picture proof of them discussing their data with you, they will get a special treat! Tell them to check their email for a copy of the presentation.
Elective course selections sheets for CURRENT 6th and 7th graders are due to Ms. Williford by Friday, April 4th. If your child has a question, they can see Ms. Williford during their PE or elective period.

We are so proud to announce that our art teacher, Katie Justice, has won not one, but two, grants for Calera Middle School. The grants are to help enhance both our learning spaces and our art program!
The first grant, for $11,807, will fund the creation of a Courtyard Classroom & Garden, giving students a hands-on outdoor learning environment where they can garden, create art, and explore nature.
The second grant, for $961.05, will purchase 90 front-opening picture frames that will be used to proudly display student artwork throughout the school. These frames make it easy to update and showcase new work all year long!
We are so excited to bring these opportunities to our students and can’t wait to see both projects come to life. Thank you to everyone who supports our school and our students’ creativity and learning!
