Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break.! We are glad to have children in the building today. Here are a couple of reminders:

2. This is also a good time to check your child's lunch account to make sure they have money for this week or month.
3. Make sure all jackets and accessories have your child's name written somewhere inside of them in case they get lost.

Reminder: All Shelby County Schools will be closed tomorrow, November 11th, for the Veteran's Day holiday. We are thankful for all of our Chelsea Park parents and grandparents who have served.

This week is School Bus Safety Week. Parents, we need your help teaching the importance of bus safety.
Our bus drivers are amazing and they really do a great job getting children to and from school safely; however, they need our help. Please talk to your students about the importance of being safe at the bus stop and while riding the bus. We are excited to announce Chelsea Park Elementary School's recognition today as being one of the newest 2025 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse School in the nation! Our school will be honored for this special recognition at the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Conference in Orlando, FL in December. We want to thank our students, parents, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders for all their hard work and support during this school improvement process. Chelsea Park is a special place, and we are thankful for everyone's support in helping us provide the best education and educational experiences for our students!

Please fill out the Blue Ribbon Schools Parent Survey if you haven’t done so already using the unique code that was sent home with your child. The letter had a unique code for each family to enter in order to complete the anonymous survey. Blue Ribbon Schools want to hear from our parents. Information from PTO regarding snowcone and popcorn days
Our school year is off to a great start! If your student is absent, you must send a parent note or medical excuse within 3 days of them returning to school. You may email the school excuse to scboe-cpes@shelbyed.org. Any note received after the 3 days will be coded unexcused.
We will be closing at 2:00 pm today (Thursday, July 3) for the 4th of July holiday break. We will reopen on Monday, July 7 at 7:30 am.
Summer school starts Tuesday, July 8 for those students who were invited to attend. It ends Friday, July 18. Doors open at 7:30 am each morning.
If your child will be attending CPES next year, please make sure you have completed the S.C.O.R.E. registration process. Some people have registered for school, but haven't finished the process by uploading the required documents. All new and returning students must upload 2 current proofs of residence in the parent or legal guardian's name verifying you live in our school zone. If you are living with someone else and do not have bills in your name, please contact Mrs. Archer to discuss getting an affidavit and scheduling a meeting with a school administrator. All new students have additional documents to upload in S.C.O.R.E, and that list can be found on the Shelby County Schools website. We are asking all families to register their children and upload the documents by June 30th.
S.C.O.R.E. Registration for 2025-2026 is OPEN - PLEASE REGISTER NOW IF YOU PLAN ON YOUR CHILD ATTENDING CPES in August! Our staffing depends on student enrollment numbers, so we need you to register as soon as possible if you plan on your child attending CPES.

Summer OFFICE HOURS for CPES Only: Open Daily from 7:30 am - 11:30 am and 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
We will be closed to the public from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm each day.
Good Afternoon,
We have been informed that there is a car wreck near the clocktower entrance to the Chelsea Park neighborhood. This wreck will affect traffic coming into and out of the neighborhood. We are rerouting buses this afternoon, so we apologize if they are running behind schedule. We have been informed that the traffic is starting to back up on Highway 280, so we know there will be some delays. Please be patient and plan accordingly if you are picking up your child in car rider line this afternoon. You may want to leave a few minutes earlier than usual or find an alternate route to the school.

Dear 1st Grade Parents:
Due to the possibility of rain and thunderstorms in our area for tomorrow, we have rescheduled our field trip to Monday, May 5. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we want to make sure our students, families, and staff are safe. The forecast for Monday looks much better. Hopefully, all parents who were planning on attending can still make arrangements to go on Monday.
