Calera High School went into secure perimeter protocols today due to an incident that was occurring in the community near the school. Staff secured the areas for which they were responsible and students stayed inside until law enforcement gave the all-clear. The secure perimeter was out of precaution and students and staff were not in danger. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. We appreciate the partnership with the Calera Police Department and their clear communication during this incident.

The first college campus tour field trip has been scheduled. We will be touring Jacksonville State University on November 7th. The cost to attend is $50.00, which includes lunch and the cost for the charter bus. Seniors may sign up now, and remaining seats will open up for juniors next week. Mr. Riggins emailed permission slips to all juniors and seniors, but extra copies are available outside of his office. Students need a 2.5 GPA to be eligible. Seats are limited and will be first come- first served. Payments can be split if needed.
