Let’s build something amazing together! 💪👷♀️

Today, our students took part in hands-on learning designed to help them understand and prepare for the natural disasters and major weather events that can impact our state and local community. Students explored disaster simulation tools, geographic displays, and common weather events specific to Alabama. During their PE classes, they also had the opportunity to work directly with Calera Public Safety officials to learn how to prepare their own homes for severe weather.
This event supports our preparation for Alabama’s annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, beginning Friday, February 20, 2026. Our goal was for students and families to walk away with practical knowledge—and a stronger plan—to stay safe during severe weather season. 💙🌩️
