This past weekend, our Theater Club students performed 101 Dalmatians Kids. They put on a fantastic show at all three performances, and they even performed in front of their peers! Ms. Daviston and her students worked for months to make the show a success! We appreciate all of their hard work! Also, many thanks to all of the people that contributed to the show's success! The Technology Student Association (TSA) competed in the ACES2 Mobility Competition (Alabama Transportation Institute and the University of Alabama). They came in FIRST PLACE, and they also won the Engineering Excellence Award in addition to being #1 in the state. Judging was done by transportation engineers from ATI and UA. The kids designed, built, and programmed an autonomous flooded road detector with a warning sign to alert drivers to dangerous driving conditions. The design was made to be solar powered, programmed in Python, and super cheap to encourage mass deployment (...and because of Alabama budgets). They made a working, programmed model to submit. We are so proud of this group! FLY AS ONE!

Last Call to buy a yearbook! When they run out, we will not sell any more. The last day to purchase one is Monday, May 4th if there are any pre-order books left! Just a reminder, yearbooks were not included in the registration fees so you will have to send cash or check made out to Calera Middle School. See Mrs. Frazier to purchase one for $55! If you need to know if you bought one, there is a list posted outside of room 406-Frazier.
