We solved a mystery 🔍🧬🥼 Today kids in Ms. Molan’s 7th Grade Science Class learned about a virus that threatened to take over the entire world, but with their knowledge of genetics, mitosis, and parts of the cell, they saved the day!

Do you like to build things with your hands? Girls Can Camp is a 3-day, hands-on camp for current 8th, 9th, & 10th grade girls featuring carpentry, welding, and electrical specialties. Learn to operate power tools, wire outlets/switches, and weld metal together with fire all while completing your very own take-home projects! Mrs. J.Lee's FACS class loves the most important meal of the day! After learning about the value of a good breakfast, our FACS classes copied recipes, practiced their measuring skills, perfected their cleaning procedures, and worked on their kitchen safety while creating breakfast quesadillas. #FLYASONE

Mrs. Dennis and Mrs. Winslett’s 8th grade ELA classes created a product and sales pitch using rhetorical devices. The guest “sharks” came in to judge the presentations and decide whether or not they would buy the products. There were so many great products from an app to customize your shoes, a translating app, scent changing candles, phone charging luggage and even glasses that can see the future!

We love our students! Winter Formal was a blast! They know how to DRESS TO IMPRESS!

Earlier today, there was concern of a possible gas leak in one of the classrooms here. After thoroughly investigating the situation, it was confirmed that there was no gas leak. Students have returned to their classes. All of the Eagles are flying safely! 🦅

BIG Congrats to our 7th Grade Boys Basketball Team on winning the Southern Conference Championship this week! They finished the season with a 15-1 record! We are so proud of all of their hard work this season! FLY AS ONE!

All Shelby County Schools will resume normal operations on Thursday, January 18. We are excited to welcome our students and staff back!

Shelby County Schools will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17 due to winter weather conditions, including the forecast of a hard freeze overnight. There are still areas of the county experiencing icy road conditions that are not likely to improve until temperatures rise above freezing midday on Wednesday. We anticipate being back to a normal school schedule on Thursday.

Due to the threat of winter weather and extreme temperatures, all Shelby County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, and students will transition to remote learning. All after-school activities are also canceled. We are also monitoring the weather for Wednesday morning and will announce school delays or closures as we receive more detailed weather information.

Due to the threat of severe weather, specifically straight-line winds causing downed trees and powerlines on Friday, January 12, all Shelby County Schools will be closed and students will transition to remote learning. All after-school activities are also canceled. Schools will be closed on Monday, January 15 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. We are also monitoring the weather for Tuesday morning and will announce school delays or closures as we receive more detailed weather information.

Our National Junior Honor Society has been volunteering at Manna Ministries on Saturdays! Each student is given a "station" where they load boxes with food. Once the boxes are full, students help load the boxes into cars. Last week, they helped feed 810 families! We are proud of the work they do in our community! #FLYASONE
