Parents:
This email was sent to students last week from Mr. Riggins.
We will be administering the PSAT/NMSQ in October for those students in 10th and 11th grade who are interested in taking this exam.
This is an OPTIONAL exam, and is not required. However, if you are a strong student who is academically minded, you may wish to participate in this exam. It is the exam that is used by The College Board to determine National Merit Scholars, which is a scholarship program run by The College Board. National Merit Scholars are determined by 11th grade test scores, but 10th graders are allowed to test for practice and experience.
The cost to participate in this exam is $20.00, and seats will be limited.
IMPORTANT: If you receive testing accommodations due to a 504 or IEP and wish to use accommodations on the PSAT (should you choose to test), you MUST inform me no later than 8/22. Accommodations must be requested, and there is a deadline to submit requests. I will not be submitting accommodation requests unless you specifically reach out to me by this deadline.
