Girls Can Construction Camp will be held June 9–11, 2026, from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM at the Career Technical Education Center in Columbiana. This FREE, hands-on camp is open to girls currently in 8th–10th grades across Shelby County. Participants will explore carpentry, welding, and electrical trades while completing projects they’ll take home on the final day. Lunch, snacks, and drinks are provided daily. Space is limited to 45 students, and campers are selected through an application process. The application deadline is March 20, and the application can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSecapTsURfmVexLbGs1cC3ael3Yp3X17mUeq6J7SwUKh5jNXQ/viewform
The application link can also be found on camp posters and brochures hung up around the school. Additional details will be shared with families once students are selected.

Join us for an exciting 3-day, hands-on camp for current 8th, 9th, and 10th grade girls, where you’ll dive into the worlds of carpentry, welding, and electrical work. You’ll learn how to use real power tools, wire outlets and switches, and even weld metal together with fire—all while creating awesome projects you’ll get to take home!

Build skills. Boost confidence. Make new friends. Have fun.
