🧬🔬 Help us give a BIG CTEC welcome to Dr. Catherine Doss! 🎉 We’re so excited to have her joining the CTEC family as our new Biomedical Science teacher!
Dr. Doss brings an incredible background in science and education. She earned her PhD in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt University and completed her postdoctoral research at UAB’s Department of Nutrition. She has taught at both the high school and college levels and most recently served as a substitute teacher in Shelby County.
Dr. Doss lives in Montevallo with her husband, Shane, and their two children, RJ and Avery, who are a senior and freshman at Montevallo High School. 💙 You can find her cheering from the stands at a football game nearly every Friday night, supporting RJ as a percussionist in the marching band and Avery as a Majorette/dancer with the auxiliary! 🏈🥁💃

Mr. Reed is entering his 13th year in education and brings a wealth of experience as both a classroom teacher and administrator. He holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama, a master's degree in Education from UAB, and an administrative certification from the University of West Alabama.
Throughout his career, Mr. Reed has served as a history teacher at Hueytown Middle School and Helena Middle School, as well as an administrator at Helena High School and Montevallo High School and Middle School. A Helena resident, he and his three children—Jada, Elijah, and Bennett—enjoy spending time together. In his free time, Mr. Reed enjoys listening to audiobooks, following sports, and cooking.
We are excited to welcome Mr. Reed to CTEC and look forward to the leadership, experience, and enthusiasm he brings to our school!

Life is wonderfully busy, and when I’m off the clock, you can usually find me outside, exercising, trying out a new recipe, or spending quality time with family.
