CTE Pathways by School
Students in a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway program take a specialized sequence of courses, a pathway, which provides rigorous academic and technical knowledge and skills aligned with a specific career focus. Students who complete three or more courses, including one foundation course and two concentrator or capstone courses with a āCā average in each course will attain CTE completer status and will earn a College & Career Readiness (CCR) indicator.
In addition to the courses defined below per school, the Career Technical Educational Center (CTEC) provides additional CTE courses and career opportunities for students enrolled in Shelby County Schools. Students attend CTEC during the normal school day and take their core classes at their base school. CTEC Courses offered:
