WHAT is the Family Engagement Academy? The Family Engagement Academy is a Title 1 initiative that offers learning activities and resources to families.

WHEN is the Family Engagement Academy? There will be 3 sessions. The 1st session will be Tuesday, October 11 and will focus on strategies to help students become better readers. The 2nd session will be on Tuesday, November 15 and will focus on strategies to help students learn and love math. The 3rd session will be on Tuesday, February 7 and will focus on helping students deal with stress and manage their feelings. All sessions will be from 6-7 PM.

WHERE will the Family Engagement Academy be held? There will be 4 locations: Calera Elementary (for families of students at Calera Elementary and Calera Intermediate), Elvin Hill Elementary (for families of students at Shelby, Wilsonville, and Elvin Hill), Montevallo Elementary, and Vincent Elementary.

WHAT will we do at the Family Engagement Academy? You’ll learn easy and fun ways to help your child learn and thrive.

WHY would I want to join the Family Engagement Academy? You will learn ways to support your child, receive free resources (such as books and games) AND each time you come to a session, you will get an entry form to be entered to win a free Kindle Fire eReader.
