Many of the USDA waivers that enabled schools to feed children last summer have expired. Meals will be provided during the times identified only for students who are enrolled in enrichment/learning programs on the school campus during the school day.

Schools and offices will be closed on June 19th.

The Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) announced plans to issue Summer Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits to children who receive free or reduced-price school meals. Summer P-EBT 2023 benefits are limited to students who receive free or reduced-price meals from the National School Lunch Program by applications approved before May 16, 2023. Qualifying households will get $120 for each participating student. The benefits are expected to start rolling out in mid-to-late summer. Eligible families are encouraged to monitor dhr.alabama.gov for updates, including information about a timeframe for the arrival of benefits.
